Once activated, Seclave is ready whenever you turn it on.

Power up

To turn the Seclave on, hold the power switch and press the joystick in, the same way you did when you activated it. You will then enter your two master-password words to open the device.

The login screen: home in on each of your two words in the word list.

Menu navigation

The main menu. Move left/right through the items; press to choose.

• Move left and right to move through the items of a menu.

• Press the joystick in to choose the highlighted item.

• Move up to go back to the previous menu.

The chapters of this manual follow the on-screen menu, so the item names you read here are the names shown on the device.

Power off

You can power the Seclave off from almost any menu by holding the joystick up for about a second.

The device also powers itself off after a period of inactivity, to save the battery and protect your data:

• 1 minute in the main menu.

• 3 minutes in a sub-menu.

• 5 minutes while the USB cable is connected to a computer.

Note

A special Active use (Long timeout) mode extends these timeouts for as long as you are actively working with the device.

If the battery runs low, Seclave shows a low-power warning and shuts down on its own to avoid losing data. Charge the device by connecting it to USB.
